What we do
About us
We are a user led organisation controlled by our trustees who are all disabled people. We formed in 1996, we work according to the social model, which is what our mission statement is based on.
Our Member Groups
The NCODP is made up of our member groups, these are user led groups from across the county. The groups range from access and support groups to impairment specific and sports groups.
Our Services
NCODP works to provide disabled people with a wide range of services, from help with benefit form filling, to assisting with Direct payment and Personal Budgets, through to managing Payroll for Direct payment users.
Campaigns
We are a campaigning organisation and each year we hold a county wide campaign tackling just some of the many issues faced by disabled people. We are supported by our member groups as well as individual members.
Centre for Independent Living
Consultancy
We work with different agencies providing consultancy, we try to make sure that people who are providing or developing services for disabled people, consult with us first to ensure that their work actually fits with the needs of disabled people locally. Our current work is looking at the changes being made in social care, this is done by our Independent Living Groups and Link which is about ensuring that health and social care services are as accessible as possible.
