With the government’s continuing agenda about personalising services we are expecting that more and more people in local communities will be looking to buy or use services and activities that are local to them, particularly as councils stop providing the services they once used to. This move means that there are a range of new opportunities for businesses or groups led by disabled people, older people and carers.
The Norfolk Coalition of Disabled People, (NCODP), is working on a programme of training and support for these communities and its existing member groups in Norfolk. The programme will be designed to take people through the stages of setting up a Social Enterprise right through to sustainability and continued business support for the future.

- July 2011 - Increasing Capacity of User Led Organisations

- June 2011 - Increasing Capacity of User Led Organisations

- April 2011 - Increasing Capacity of User Led Organisations

- March 2011 - Increasing Capacity of User Led Organisations

An initial workshop was held in February this year which was well attended. From the results of this, and with some funding from Norfolk County Council, NCODP has developed an initial programme of workshops and support which will begin in May and last until the end of the year. We then hope to bid for more funds to develop the programme further and make it sustainable into the future.
