This key event saw the launch of a new film exploring the individual, positive stories from Norfolk people enjoying the benefits that Personal Budget have to offer, at the Norwich Forum on Thursday 3rd December.
Personal Budgets form part of Self Directed Support, recently introduced by Norfolk County Council.
Self Directed Support is a new way for people to be in control of their own support meaning they can live their life more as they choose.
People will be able to plan the support they want and choose their own goals.
The Personal Budgets film launch was on the morning of the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a yearly event which aims to promote an understanding of disability issues along with the rights of disabled people.
The Norfolk launch was one of many events within the UK and across the world, celebrating and promoting disability culture.
Norfolk has been in the forefront of the major transformation to the way social care is delivered across the country and promoting co-production between local authorities and disabled peoples organisations.
